Andrew holds two Masters Degrees (ANU) (USQ)
A graduate of the University of Queensland, Andrew holds bachelors degrees in Economics, Business and Modern history.
He has been made a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and a fellow of the Australian Honour Society.
In 1999, Andrew graduated the Royal Military College of Australia (RMC).
Andrew speaks Tetum (Timorese), school-boy French and fluent American (multiple dialects).
Andrew is a committee member of Defence in Business ACT an organistaion which actively promotes the values & experience of current and former defence personnel.
Andrew also promotes the principles of the NGO World Growth, who champion free trade to end poverty. Andrew enjoys using his recreational pursuits to champion worthy causes. He has run numerous endurance races to raise money for Legacy, Cystic Fibrosis Australia and UNICEF.
As a believer in education and the power of the free market Andrew strongly advocates the Human Capital Project aimed at investing in the education of students in Cambodia who would not otherwise be able to afford university

Andrew has explored exotic wilderness, climbed some of the highest peaks in Asia and dived some of the world's best wrecks.Andrew G T Kirby Night diving off Bowling Green Bay
One of his favourite wreck dives is one of Australia’s most intriguing maritime mysteries, the S.S. YONGALA which sank in 1911. It lay undiscovered for more than half a century.
In 2008 Andrew climbed Mt. Fuji, Japan immediately after completing one of the world's largest synchronized foot races - the Nike Human Race, around Fujigoko - Mt Fuji's five lakes.
Andrew is a passionate supporter of the Queensland Reds (and Wallabies tragic), Brisbane Lions and Polo in the City, amongst other sporting, cultural and culinary pursuits.
He is currently stalled (figuratively not physically) in his training to earn his Private Pilot's License.
